Consultative Director Services for Facilities |
|
With the link tying hospital reimbursements to patient outcomes growing ever stronger, we can assist area facilities improve not only the care of their overall patient population but also their reimbursements. Over the years, our physicians have served as Medical Director for numerous hospital clients, providing them with consultative services in the areas of infection control, epidemiology, clinical microbiology, pharmacy and therapeutics, and antibiotic stewardship. Working with a facility’s medical staff and the pharmacy department, we are able to track patterns of pathogen resistance, monitor antibiotic usage for disease appropriateness, establish formularies and antibiotic usage guidelines, as well as make recommendations for alternative substitutions where appropriate. We can also assist a facility’s infection control staff in developing and implementing methods to reduce the cost and incidence of treating nosocomial infections and communicable diseases. These efforts not only enable facilities to improve the quality of care for all of their patients, but they also aid in reducing unnecessary costs and antibiotic resistance. The Charlotte community is fortunate to have two major hospital systems in its city win national acclaim by the Joint Commission in 2008. |
